Hello everyone, I would like to share something the Lord laid on my heart.
David was a shepherd boy who confronted and killed Goliath. King Saul adopted him and brought him into the palace to work with his soldiers. Saul witnessed the slaying of Goliath. He saw the incredible skill-sets David deployed to annihilate the enemy of Israel. He saw how through David’s act of bravery Israel won the battle and their enemies fled in terror. He saw the potential for greatness in David. From what the women sang after the battle he knew that David was made for great things in Israel.
Saul gave David a high position in his army. Made him the head of a unit, even gave him his daughter to marry, but Saul had no plans of ever allowing David become all he was capable of becoming. As long as David remained small, as long as he remained a servant working for Saul, as long as his dream did not clash with the kingly ambitions of Saul, he was welcome in the palace.
God’s plan for David was to become king, not to be a servant in Saul’s palace. David could never become a king as long as he remained in Saul’s palace. David had to leave Saul before he became all that God planned for him to be.
Saul became the albatross in David’s way. He became the one who blocked David from his greatness. Saul had become the enemy and if David wanted anything meaningful to happen in his life, if he wanted God’s will to be done in his life, if he wanted to see his dream become a reality, David had to leave Saul’s palace.
Saul’s palace represented success for David. He was a shepherd boy who was promoted to rub shoulders with the rich and powerful in the palace and could have started thinking that this was the ultimate for him. He had access to powerful people in the country, however if he wanted to fulfill destiny he had to leave Saul because Saul would never allow him become a king.
Who is the Saul in your life? Saul would never let you rise. He will never let you shine. He will reserve certain opportunities for himself alone and let you eat the crumbs of success which fall off his table. Saul will never allow you be the best you are capable of becoming. Saul would make sure you never become anything of value on this earth. As long as you remain with Saul you will remain an underdog, a servant, a slave. Continue reading
Focus On Your calling.
Success is the result of a singular focus on your calling.
Failure is the result of trying to do so many things at the same time.
Do not waste your time trying to save the world. You cannot save the world. It is too big for you to save. The problems in the world are to numerous for you to solve. This is why you should discover and focus entirely on your calling and nothing else.
Your calling is the reason why you are alive. Your calling is your assignment. This is where you should invest your time, skill-set, energy, money and other resources. Continue reading
Breaking Out Of The House Of Pharaoh, Part 2
Until you are free from the bondage of the house of Pharaoh you will not be able to pursue and accomplish your life’s calling and assignment.
Moses had an assignment to liberate about two million Jews from bondage. There was a powerful calling on his life to liberate a nation. But first the liberator had to liberate himself, the saviour had to set himself free. The house of Pharaoh realised that as long as it kept Moses busy with feel good activities which had no bearing or connection whatsoever with his life’s assignment, he would remain in bondage and never bring himself to focus on and pursue God’s will for his life.
You may work for a huge ministry, church or organisation and you occupy a high level position in it and you think you have arrived at the highest point of your calling, career or endeavour in life. But you may be wrong. Moses probably thought the same thing. What else could be bigger and better than being a member of the house of Pharaoh? The answer? God’s assignment for your life is bigger, better than anything that the house of Pharaoh can offer you. Moses had a nation waiting for his prophetic leadership but he was held down by the chains of the house of Pharaoh.
So that you know, the forces of darkness will never willingly allow you to leave the house of Pharaoh. The enemy wants to keep you bound to that house, bound to that location, bound to that organisation, to that entity. The game plan of the enemy is to enslave you to the house of Pharaoh forever if he can. To break out of the house of Pharaoh it must be by force. You must invoke the power of the Almighty God to fight against every enemy of your freedom, calling and assignment. Continue reading
The bible says that our calling is holy. It means it is sacred. Something that is sacred should not be handled lightly or irreverently. Many desecrate their holy calling by substituting it with the pursuit of carnal things.
2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
What we have in Christ Jesus is a high calling. No pursuit or desire is higher than the calling we have in Christ. Paul said he pressed into his calling. If it were easy to obtain and fulfil his calling he wouldn’t talk about pressing into it. Many want to sit back and watch their calling come to pass. But they will end up frustrated. Nothing good in the kingdom will come to you without commitment, tenacity and a strong sense of purpose. We have to press in the place of prayer and study of the word. It is those who press in after The Lord who possess the blessings of the kingdom.
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Paul prayed that the eyes of our spirit may be flooded with light, that we may have deeper understanding and clarity about our calling. This is a prayer we should all pray daily. When we have clarity about our calling we won’t fall into the trap of satanic distractions.
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
The enemy will throw a spanner in the engine of your life to destabilise you. He will try to keep you unbalanced on your feet so you never stabilise enough to pursue your calling.
The enemy uses distractions to keep us busy doing something else while we do nothing about our real calling. These distractions may not be bad things, in fact many times they are good things, good causes, legitimate pursuits. However The Lord did not assign you to pursue these things. The enemy entices us with success, riches and fame in the secular world. He tells us that the whole world will worship us and be friends with us if we pursue these distractions. If we do not focus on God’s will and purpose for our lives, we will begin to give heed to satanic lies and begin to pursue distractions. Continue reading
