A House Of Prayer

“It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.'” Matthew 21:13.

The Lord said my house shall be called a house of prayer.
Not a house of music,
Not a house of breakthrough,
Not a house of prosperity,
Not a house of success,
Not a house of miracles,
Not a house of millionaires,
But a house of prayer.

It is a house of prayer because God wants to have a strong connection, intimacy and communion with his children.

If his house is a house of prayer, why is it that we do everything else in it but pray? Why is it that we have turned his house into a house of merriment and entertainment? Continue reading

Spiritual Warfare and The Prayers Of The Saints.

1Thessalonians 5:25- Brethren pray for us.

This was a request made by Paul the apostle to the Thessalonians to pray for him. It was made out of a heart of humility, by a man who understood the power of prayer, a man who understood the immense power and effectiveness of the combined prayers of the saints. This was a man who walked in revelation, so such a request from him for prayer shouldn’t be taken at face value. Something happens when believers come together to pray. Something happens that would never have happened in any other way until believers lift up their hearts as one and pray asking God to intervene concerning a person, a people, a nation, a project, a family, a business, a community or a cause. And when believers join their hearts together as one and pray in faith, God answers. Always.

A couple of months ago I requested some brethren to pray for me concerning the direction The Lord was leading me in ministry. Instead of praying for me as I requested, one brother replied and said I should read some ‘In Him scriptures’ found in the Pauline epistles. He thought that when I asked the brethren to pray for me, I was clueless and ignorant and he was more spiritual because he knew those scriptures and I didn’t. But even brother Paul who wrote those epistles requested prayers from the saints, not once, not twice, but several times. This brother thought he was being spiritual but that was spiritual pride and pride is deeply rooted in ignorance. Continue reading

Prayer For Divine Will.

Lord, May Your Kingdom come, May Your Will be done, have full sway in and take total pre-eminence in my life.
May my will give way for your Will to find full, complete, total expression in my life.
May your Will locate and find me.
May your Will bless my soul with peace.
May your Will align me to your plan and purpose for my life.
May your Will redirect the course of my life.
May your Will rescue me from the wrong path, from wrong associations, from wrong relationships and from wrong pursuits.
May the desire for your Will become a stronghold in my heart.
May my heart find peace in and rejoice to do your Will.
Lord bring me into the very centre of your Will for my life.
Lord demolish every resistance in my heart to do your Will.
Lord guide me, lead me, direct me and bring me into the right geographical location, the right place and the right people to carry out and fulfil your divine assignment for my life.
May your voice be heard with total clarity in the very centre of my heart.
Lord as I go in the way, speak to my heart and guide my feet in your Will.
Lord may your Will liberate me from the things that hold me bound, the things that limit me, the things that scare me, the things that confine me.
Lord deliver my mind, my soul, my emotions and my thoughts from confusion.
Lord bring supernatural order and peace into my life. Continue reading
