Learn To Follow The Holy Spirit.

Learn To Follow The Holy Spirit.

Many years ago a man was about to get married but on the day of the traditional wedding, he refused to show up for the ceremony.
The bride’s family sent emissaries to him to beg him to show up because guests were already gathered at the venue. The man refused to leave his house. They sent more emissaries and at 5pm that day he turned up for the wedding.
The man did not want to go ahead with that wedding. That was the RESTRAINT of the Holy Spirit, holding him back, cautioning him, giving him a warning, but he listened to the voices of men rather than obey the voice of God.

That marriage was hell for that man. It was one problem after another. After a few years the woman divorced him. She never wanted a husband. All she wanted was children and as soon as she had her children she got rid of the man. He went through many challenges and died at the prime of his life.

This is a true life story. I know that man and I also know the lady involved. The woman was not evil or wicked. They were not just meant for each other. They were never meant to get married. They were never meant to be together. When you are with someone you are not meant to be with all you will see is their weaknesses and bad side. You will never see or enjoy anything good in them. Why Are Some Pastors So WICKED?

Some of the meanest, wicked, most heartless people I have met in my over five decades on this planet have been pastors and ministers of the gospel.

Before you start cursing me, let me finish.
Read Ezekiel 8:5-18, where Ezeliel found great wickedness and sin inside the temple being practiced by the elders of Israel.

Let me tell you a SAD story.
Several years ago, a friend of mine worked with a mega pastor in Lagos for about five years. When he was about to leave, the mega pastor took back his car, ejected him from his apartment with EXTREME PREJUDICE! It was like they were ENEMIES.

The mega pastor lived like an emperor in the best part of town, he owned many luxury cars, had several real estate investments in the city, but he could not allow this young pastor to exit the ministry and start his own ministry in peace.

I have seen some pastors come on the pulpit and lay curses on their associates who wanted to start their own ministry. They would say all kinds of malicious things against them just because they decided to take their destiny into their own hands and step out in faith.

All these pastors who are very good at laying curses also left some other ministries and started their own, why should it be different fot the people who served with them? why should they make life difficult for people who have invested a large portion of their lives growing their ministries?

Why is the heart of man so full of wickedness?
Why can’t you wish another person well and pray for them to rise and fulfill their calling, assignment and purpose?
Why do you lay curses on men and women who served you faithfully for many years?

This is NOT the nature and character of Christ. Continue reading

Take Responsibility For Your Dream.

Through the years I observed that over 80% of the church leaders and pastors I worked with were very insecure. They never wanted anyone to shine more than them, they used ‘spirituality’ to put down great dreams which threatened them and their empire.

I have NEVER stopped anyone from pursuing their dream.
I have NEVER told anyone that their dream was impossible.
I always encourage people to be all they can be. I thought all pastors were like me but I was wrong. Continue reading

What Matters Is Faithfulness.

Dear minister,

Do not measure the success of your life by how many houses, cars, you have or by how much money you possess. You may have a lot of money but be totally lost. Having lots of money and material things is not a sign of spirituality or your intimacy with the Lord. Read Revelations 3:17.
Sinners who hate God are rich.
Never measure the value of your contribution by the testimonies of people you have ministered to. Testimonies are good, however they are not a true measurement of your success in ministry.

Have you been faithful to your calling and your assignment? Have you followed the Lord on his instructions to you regarding your assignment?
The Lord rewards our faithfulness and our obedience, not our ability to accumulate material things like the heathen who do not know God. Continue reading

TEKEL: Weighed in the balance and found wanting.

TEKEL: Weighed in the balance and found wanting.

In the book of Daniel 5, while king Belteshazzar was drinking with his wives and concubines, desecrating holy vessels dedicated to the Lord, he saw a hand appear and write some words on the wall: MENE MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN.

Nobody could give an interpretation of these words, but the queen told the king about Daniel and he was brought before the king. The queen said there was a spirit of excellence in Daniel which made him understand and give solutions to complex, knotty, confusing, difficult issues.

Daniel interpreted the words to the king. What caught my attention is the second word: TEKEL. It means ‘you have been weighed in the balance and found wanting.’ Because Belteshazzar was found wanting, his kingdom was taken away from him and given to another.

This text got me thinking about our relationship with the Lord. Continue reading
