The Path To Prosperity. Part 1

God wants you to prosper.
He delights in, takes pleasure in the prosperity of his saints. He loves to see His children do well in life as they walk in the centre of His will. He wants you to prosper in your assignment, business, career, job, ministry and in all that you do.

Psalms 35:27
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause:
yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

There is a promise of prosperity for those who serve The Lord and walk in obedience to His will.

Job 36:11
If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

Psalms 1:3
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

In the first Psalm The Lord said if you do not walk in ungodly counsel, if you do not walk with sinners or sit in the seat of the scornful, whatsoever you do will prosper.

True prosperity is more than the accumulation of money and material things. True prosperity is an act of divine providence, empowering you with the necessary economic, social and political resources you require to pursue and fulfil His Will and kingdom agenda for your life, for the Body of Christ and for the world. True prosperity is the divine empowerment to move in the direction of God’s will and carry out His agenda without any fear, intimidation or hinderance. This is the Will of God for all His children. True prosperity will manifest itself in our lives in different ways depending on our assignment and the grace of God on our lives. God doesn’t just give us resources for no reason. God despises waste. Every resource The Lord brings into our hands, every act of divine providence in our lives has a specific purpose in God’s divine agenda for our lives.

Prosperity for a believer in China who has an assignment to reach villages in the interior may be different for a believer who is a Wall Street banker with an assignment to reach the political elite. Both believers will receive the supernatural resources necessary for them to carry out their assignment. Both of them will walk in divine providence according to their faith, in accordance with their assignment and calling.

But how does He position us for prosperity? How does He bring prosperity into our lives? Prosperity doesn’t just happen. There is a way heaven positions the believer for true prosperity.

For decades anytime the word ‘prosperity’ was mentioned by a preacher it meant giving money to the church, to the men and women of God so that you can ‘become rich.’ These preachers didn’t know any better, so they taught what they knew. There is a place for giving in the prosperity equation, however giving is not the fundamental key that unlocks your prosperity. You can give yourself to an early grave but unless you pay attention to what we are about to discuss, you will not experience the level of prosperity The Lord desires for you.

1. The Right Place (The Mystery of Geographical Location.)

There is a place for prosperity. Kingdom prosperity is connected to a definite geographical location. When God wants you to prosper, He guides you to and instructs you to reside in a specific geographical location.
Your success, promotion, prosperity in life is tied to a geographical location. You cannot prosper ‘anywhere.’ You will not prosper ‘abroad’ if that is not where the Lord wants you to be. You may travel to a foreign country to escape the economic hardship in your country but if the Lord is not sending you there, it would be a waste of your time and life. You will prosper in a particular geographical location where The Lord wants you to be in furtherance of His kingdom agenda and in accordance to His will for your life.

When you are in the right geographical location good things will begin to happen to you. When you are in the right place success will magnetise itself to you and pursue you. Your gift, talent, skill and expertise is important in the success mix, but unless you are in the right geographical location where they can be recognised and rewarded, you will not fulfil your full potential in the kingdom.

If you are in the wrong place, no matter how smart, connected, educated you are, you will never be able to rise above a certain level in life. Your prosperity is tied to a geographical location and if you really want to excel in life you should locate that place and move in that direction.

There are people with PhDs who drive taxi cabs in London and New York! You may have multiple degrees but if you are in the wrong geographical location those degrees will not profit you. If you are in the wrong geographical location your talent will struggle to be recognised and rewarded. In fact, being in the wrong geographical location can negatively impact on your talent and ability. Where there is no opportunity to use your talent, it will shrivel, wither and die. But this will not be your portion. May your talent and innate abilities find full, complete and total expression in the right geographical location in Jesus’ Name.

Genesis 12:1-3
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curse thee:and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

God told Abram to leave a certain geographical location in the Middle East. He promised him that if he left that location and relocated to the place God would show him, that Abram would be blessed and become great. God did not mince words. He told Abram that if you obey me, if you leave this geographical location, blessings will come upon your life. And according to God’s promise Abram prospered.

There is a geographical location you must NOT reside in if you want to prosper. Many people struggle to survive in the wrong location. No matter how hard you work, how hard you pray, how much seed you sow, if you are in the wrong geographical location you will not prosper the way The Lord wants you to. You may get by but it wouldn’t be the level of prosperity and promotion The Lord has planned for you.

The Lord may direct one person to leave her country and instruct another to remain where he is. He told Abram to leave his country, people and family, but in Genesis 26 He told Isaac to stay where he was and God prospered him there. Leaving your country as an act of desperation, not out of divine instruction will set you on a path of unnecessary struggle and pain. There is productive struggle which God allows you to go through and there is one totally of your own making, which is unnecessary. Even if you are in the right country, you may be in the wrong state or region for you to fulfil divine assignment on your life. Some of you may have to move to the other end of your city if you want to experience the providence of God.

Before you start thinking that this happened in the Old Testament and we have a new and better covenant, let me tell you about Paul the Apostle.

Acts 16:6-7
Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia:but the Spirit suffered them not.

Paul and his team wanted to go into Asia Minor to preach the gospel but the Holy Spirit forbade them to go. The Holy Spirit told them categorically NOT to go to that geographical location to preach the gospel. You would think that God would allow them go everywhere to preach the gospel, well God didn’t. He forbade them from going in that direction to do what was right. Paul and his team then decided to go to Bithynia, but the Holy Spirit told them not to go there.

The fact that a project is viable, good and will be beneficial to you and your community does not mean you should go ahead with it if you have no green light from the Holy Spirit. God will show you where to embark on that project, He will show you when to pursue it so that it will have the greatest impact.

God knows where your talent, ability and calling will flourish. He sees beyond what we can see and can position you in a place that is ‘tailor-made’ for you to prosper. When your talent or ability is positioned in the right geographical location, success will become almost effortless.

2. The Right People (The Mystery of Covenant Relationships.)

To walk in the path of prosperity God will extricate and distance you from the wrong group of people and connect you with the right people. By moving you to a different geographical location He automatically disconnects and severes your ties from certain people and relationships. The truth of the matter is that if you remain with certain people you will continue to live an average life, produce average results and receive average rewards for your efforts, no matter how gifted you are, no matter how brilliant you are, no matter how hard you try, no matter how well you work. God wants to bring you in contact with people who will fulfil His will in your life as helpers of your assignment and your cause.

You may work in a great organisation but if you work with the wrong management team or with the wrong people, your progress in your career will be painfully slow. You cannot rise above the quality of the people you move with, work with or are in a relationship with.

When God wants to prosper you He directs, orders your steps to meet certain people whose wisdom, experience and counsel will launch you into a higher level of success and productivity. When you meet these people like Elizabeth, ‘the baby in your womb’ will leap for joy because your spirit will recognise that you are with a person who is on an assignment to be a blessing to you. Your ability to recognise such divine moments will help you activate covenant relationships that will birth the will of God in your life.
Sadly not all relationships will be beneficial to you. Even at this point in your life there are some unproductive, energy draining, blood sucking relationships in your life which are depleting you, taking you nowhere and which will never birth divine will for your life.

Some of these relationships are your enemies wearing clever disguises, pretending to be your friends but unknown to you they are secretly working against you, sabotaging and subverting your every move at success and progress in life. Such relationships will constitute an albatross, a hinderance and a curse on the path of your life because they don’t have the necessary covenant chemistry required by life to empower you for prosperity, for progress and for success. Such covenant chemistry cannot be forced, coerced or manipulated by you into reality. It is an act of divine providence in your life. If there is no covenant chemistry in a relationship you have to let it go. You will have to shut the door to some relationships because to continue with them is to condemn yourself to a life of mediocrity. As you shut the door to certain relationships, The Lord will open the door to new, empowering, divinely ordained relationships which will birth God’s will in your life and empower you to prosper.

When you are in the right geographical location and working with the right people you will have uncommon grace on your life; grace to prosper, grace to grow, grace to make supernatural progress, grace to flourish, grace for creative use of your talent and grace to attract favour into your life.

May The Lord guide you to the right location and bring the right people into your circumference of influence to prosper you and enable you to pursue and birth His will in your life.

Be blessed.
